I just cooked myself a nice meal! well not all of it's cooked. but at least the soup's done from scratch. I hope my bf likes it. if he doesn't its fine. the narcissus brand sweet and spicy pork cubes would save anything! that stuff is really really good. anyway the rice was obtained from the canteen downstairs. the bitchy aunty from the economic rice stall refused to sell me rice alone. That's fine really, if she could just explain in a POLITE manner why. She had that hostile unfriendly look about her, and she talked to me in an almost condescending tone. Bi-aTCH. she said she wont seell me the rice UNLESS i buy at least 2 dishes. BAH. I just don't understand. If she sells me rice she'd make a hell lot of profit leh. She's clearly trying to make money from me! annd being the nice generous person i am, I buy the food anyway. and the rice is not up to my expectations! I think i cook better rice. Ok enough complaining. =\ got to get back to book review. if u're wondering, it's a really good book titled 'Extreme Cuisines - The Weird and Wonderful Things that People Eat by Jerry Hopkins (FWD by Anthony Bourdain) . It's great and wondefully informative. some of the photos are rather repugnant, and may offend or kill one's apetite at least. The book's peppered with funny anecdotes and witty prose. Go read go read! :) The glossy photos will definitely catch your eye.
