My aunty's penthouse has a nice private jacuzzi upstairs at the roof top where she hosted her son's bday party. We spent the night squeezing in the jacuzzi and talking nonsense non stop. Playing with these little squeeze toys that squirted water and I felt like I was in a second childhood squirting water at my cousins and screaming whenever I got squirted at. We made a ruckus but nobody cared cos the sound would just dissipate into the air. One thing I did not get was why my little nephew Ethan refused to go into the jacuzzi. He was terrified... clung onto his parents ... refused to wear his float... and when my cousins went in he was like... " NOO!!! Get OUTTT!!!! AHHHh!!! hahaha. so comical everyone was very amused. The next day, I was enlightened. My nieces and nephews went swimming at our condo pool. I was relaxing in the jacuzzi alone. It was nice and hot and all :) Then my nephew, folllowed by his younger sister jumped into the jacuzzi after playing in the children's pool for a while. The youngest sister ranafter them and followed them in. She stepped onto the first step. She's fine. Second step, she plunged right in. apparently it was too deep for her. She suddenly started struggling; I realised she couldn't swim so i hoisted her out. She was pretty damn freaked but unharmed. I would be too if i were her man... Thing is, her siblings didnt see cos they were busy playing and they were behind this barrier in the jacuzzi pool. Her mum couldn't see her cos of the bushes. At least she heard the noise though and turned around quickly. But i was so glad to be around. The outcome might have been different if i wasn't. Now I understood. Ethan was smart enough (he's only 2!) to anticipate that the jacuzzi MAY have been too deep for him, even though it clearly wasn't in my opinion, so I won't laugh if a kid freaks out at jacuzzis anymore.
